Once the chemicals in the kit are mixed and a small sample is added, the solution will change color, indicating a positive reaction. The kit can be used for a single test.

Instructions:

Step 1: First, fill the red box on the leaflet with some finely ground sample (about 10 milligrams).

Step 2: Add the contents of both tubes to the bottle of solution, creating a greenish top layer.

Step 3: Then add the sample to the bottle, close the lid, and shake for 2 seconds.

Step 4: With a positive reaction, the bottom layer may change color. Compare this with the color chart on the leaflet included with the test. The darker it gets, the more heroin is present. If the color change is still transparent and shows a light to mid-brown color, the sample has a large amount of adulterants.
